How long will it take to make my invitation? Do you do small or very large projects? What is the price for your invitations? Do you address and stamp the envelopes? To find out how RSVP makes your custom invitation, please check out the RSVP Process in the Services section to read a detailed description of the steps involved in making your Really Special, Very Personal handcrafted invitation and other stationery items...
How long will it take to make my invitation? It can take about 8-12 weeks from start to finish to complete your invitation. Here's why... After our consultation, I order the papers and embellishments that you've chosen, and then I create your sample. This can take about 2-4 weeks depending on availability of supplies and my workload at that time. Your sample, along with a letter of explanation (describing the sample details, options, and cost) is then mailed for you to review. Once you've decided to go forth with the project and determined the quantities you need, I will send you a "Stationery Agreement". A 50% deposit is then due, so that all the papers and materials for your project can be ordered. Sometimes there are delays in shipping, especially if large quantities of special embellishments, ribbons or handmade papers are used, so please be advised to allow for plenty of time for backorders. Once all materials are received, and you've approved the proofs, I print and carefully craft each piece. Assembly time varies depending on your quantity needed and amount of handiwork that has to be done. Keep in mind, you are getting a custom-made product that is handcrafted from scratch...
Yes, on a case-by-case basis, rush orders may be done (additional charges will apply though). It depends on the quantity and types of stationery items that you need, and if my schedule allows the time for designing, acquiring materials, and assembling. There are ways that I can accommodate you; I like to give each client the personal attention and devotion needed to create their custom piece, even to those who may be in a hurry...
Can you do small or very large projects? Yes, any project large or small is welcomed. Orders of less than 20 are subject to a small charge to offset the price of the complimentary samples that will be made for you. Please allow ample time to complete very large orders, as large quantities of materials may not be in stock from the supplier, and adequate assembly time must be considered...
What is the price for your invitations? There is no set price for these invitations because of the uniqueness of each project. Every client will receive a custom-designed stationery piece that is created just for them according to their special requests, therefore, each piece is priced differently. The cost is dependent upon factors such as quantity, invitation size and style, types of papers and embellishments used, and labor involved. When you receive your samples, you will get a letter explaining the samples and the cost for each item. The price for all stationery items includes research and design time, project materials, shop supplies, printing, and assembly labor. There is no package plan available; however you will only be charged for the quantities you request (so if you need 118 invitations, I will make 118 and charge you for 118, not 125 as some companies may require you to purchase that set amount). Additional costs will apply for special services such as envelope addressing, small orders, rush orders, postage and shipping charges. Maryland state tax of 5 percent will also be added. Prices vary for invitations, though most of the samples shown in this web site range from $4.00-$6.50 for one wedding invitation set (includes assembled invitation, mailing envelope with complimentary return addressing on the back flap, response card with stamped and addressed envelope, and 3-4 inserts in place). If your budget is tight, I can make design adjustments to accommodate you... After you have determined which stationery pieces you would like, and have given me the quantity you need, I will write a "Stationery Agreement" which breaks down the cost of each item and the project cost. A 50% deposit of the total project cost is due prior to the purchasing of materials needed to complete your project. This deposit is non-refundable, since materials are specific to each project. The remainder 50% cost for the invitations, plus shipping and postage charges if applicable, will be due either at the time of local pickup/delivery, or prior to me mailing them out. If you are having day-of-event items made (escort cards, programs, table signs...), the remainder 50% cost for other stationery items is due at the time of local pickup/delivery, or prior to me mailing them to you (plus the cost of shipping). At this time, only personal check, cashier check, money order, or cash are be accepted. Please make checks payable to "RSVP Handcrafted Invitations".
Do you address, stamp, and mail the invitations? Yes, yes, and yes! Your address (or that of whomever will be handling the responses), will be printed on the reply envelope, free of charge, when you purchase response cards. Proper postage will also be placed on the reply envelopes, which is included in the price of your invitation set. As a complimentary service to you, I will print your return address on the back flap of the mailing envelope, unless you would prefer me not to. Computerized addressing of the recipient on the mailing envelope can also be done for a small fee. You will need to provide me the list of your guest names and addresses in a legible format, either by email, mail, or fax, at least 2 weeks prior to the completion date of your invitation order. The same fonts from your invitation are used for the envelope addressing for a more coordinated look. If you prefer to not stand in line at the post office to purchase stamps, then place all the stamps on your envelopes, and then send them out, I will be happy to do that for you! Just mention that you would like the stress-free full service, and I will do it for you.
You can fill out the Contact Form, email me, or call me so that we can get the process started. A questionnaire will be initiated so that we can discuss the details of your event and invitation preferences. Please refer to the RSVP Process page for further information...
